quiet title the property to a company called TRV
but there were conditions, it was not free
disinter and rebury THE LACY FAMILY CEMETERY

over a cemetery

now 10 years later, the judgment’s still not satisfied
the DNR declared the land a hazardous waste site
but the contract’s signed and purchase is agreed
we can build right here and so what if it was a cemetery

you wait, one night, you’ll be lying in your grave
claustrophobed & clusterfucked and all the ghosts that you woke up
will haunt you through the afterlife
you’ll tremble as your body rots away

now you can take a drive down Manchester Road
past new buildings, new businesses and you would never know
salesman smiles politely as he shows you furniture
below his shiny shoes you feel the shake of unrested earth
